Designs, being BIM-models or 2D documents, is the heart of any construction project. They tell us indirectly how much material is needed, which activities needs to be carried out, as well as the cost and carbon footprint of the building-to-be. Yet, doing these calculations today is tedious, complex and technical. Yes, it works automatically if your BIM-models are absolutely perfect, but how often does this happen? And how much money are you willing to pay to get there? AI can help solve this problem.

AI can extract features from the designs directly, mapping it into how much material is needed, which activities needed to be carried out, and thereby calculate the cost and carbon capture – all without needing better BIM-models! AI will dramatically reduce the cost of getting high quality estimates, and will make it a lot easier for everyone in the project to be a part of decisions.

Sparkel develops an AI-powered platform for extracting data and quantities from BIM-models and 2D documents, and includes an easy-to-use interface for any professional to use – regardless of BIM-knowledge.

BIM Verdi har opprettet prosjektgruppen SirkBIM for å organisere og finansiere ar beidet med å utvikle og teste digitale løsninger som tilsammen vil skape en fungerende verdikjede for ombruksmarkedet fra digital kartlegging av ombruksvarer i donorbygg – med KI – til ombruksvarer med standardiserte data (fra ombruksPDT) i byggevarehandelen.

The SirkBIM project is testing the AI-app Metaroom from Amrax – together with QR codes with Digita Link from GS1 – for easy identyfying of reusable building objects and export to open BIM (IFC) for futher data enrichments of the objects from disassembly to storing and new reuse.
